Rebates & Specials
Rebates and Incentives:
There are a good number of rebates and incentives to take advantage of. If you are looking to install a new heating or cooling system, replace an existing one or make energy efficient upgrades to your home, we can help you navigate through and secure all possible cost saving opportunities. New York State’s NYSERDA organization, utility company ConEd, and numerous manufacturers are all offering some sort of savings on new high efficiency equipment.
New York State is currently offering up to $3,000 in rebates and incentives for homeowners to install insulation in order to reduce energy usage. However, the insulation must be provided by a state accredited contractor. Bruni & Campisi is one of the very few accredited contractors in the area.
Read on for a guide on current rebates and incentives available to you, and how you can obtain them.
Not just limited to new air conditioning systems or gas furnaces, ConEd offers rebates on other pieces of equipment and high efficiency home improvement measures… all aimed to reduce your energy bill. We are a ConEd Green Team participating contractor and can secure the rebates you qualify for. From the ConEd website (https://www.conedhvacrebates.com/hvac/gas) and last update 04/22/14:
New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is a NY State run organization created to improve the State’s energy, economic, and environmental wellbeing. Some helpful programs include:
Assisted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR – The Assisted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program makes it easier for income-eligible households to afford money-saving energy efficiency improvements. If you’re eligible, up to 50 percent of your energy upgrades may be paid for Plus, you could save hundreds—even more—in energy costs each year.
Free or Reduced Cost Home Energy Audit – The Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program offers free or reduced-cost comprehensive home energy assessments, also referred to as an energy audit, to income-eligible owners of 1- to 4-unit residential buildings*. A participating Building Performance Institute (BPI) Accredited Home Performance Contractor will provide a home assessment to identify energy saving opportunities.
High Efficiency Measures Incentive – To make energy efficiency even more affordable, you may be eligible to receive 10% of the cost of eligible energy efficiency improvements, up to a maximum incentive of $3,000. This incentive is available in conjunction with the Home Performance ENERGY STAR Loan, but cannot be combined with the Energy $mart Loan. Payment is authorized after you sign the Certificate of Completion and the Program Implementer reviews the project.
Financing and On-Bill Recovery Loan Programs – For those that want to take advantage of low interest financing, HPwES offers two options through Green Jobs – Green NY.* Both loan options offer up to $13,000 per household, up to $25,000 if the project meets higher cost-effectiveness standards, and repayment periods of 5, 10, or 15 years. One option is the On-Bill Recovery Program which allows you to pay off the loan through the money you will save on your utility bill.
NYSERDA only offers these incentives to customers whose contractors are BPI (Building Performance Institute) certified. Bruni & Campisi is BPI certified and are happy to help you navigate all of your incentive options with NYSERDA.
Rebates vary by manufacturer, and some don’t offer any at all but it is not uncommon to see a $200 instant rebate depending on the particular heating, air conditioning or air quality unit you are installing. It is best to contact Bruni & Campisi to walk you through all rebates that may be available to you.
Since 2010, Bruni & Campisi has saved our customers over $500,000 by securing the rebates and incentives outlined above… and that doesn’t even include the money they have saved on their utility bills since completing their home improvement measures. If you are thinking of upgrading or replacing your heating or air conditioning system, contact us today and find out just how much you can save.
